Hi! My name is Shana McGill.
I am currently a Trainer for Apple (my actual title is “Creative”), and I have 13 years of experience in the field of Graphic Design. I am looking to maximize my skills in a position that utilizes my extensive experience working, teaching and troubleshooting Apple and Adobe software as well as my considerable design talents.
I have worked in my current role with Apple since 2007. As a trainer, I teach customers how to use their Apple hardware and software in one to one interactions as well as in group workshops that I facilitate in the store. I have also had opportunities to work offsite at NASA, training JSC employees to use their Apple equipment. I am certified in all consumer Apple software (iLife, OSX, iOS) as well as iWork and Aperture. I have personally earned some of the highest possible satisfaction scores in a company known for it’s outstanding customer service. I have refined my abilities in technical learning, learning on the fly, dealing with ambiguity and customer focus.
For 10 years prior to working with Apple, I worked as a Graphic Designer. I specialize in layout for print using InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I have worked with offset printing companies, screen printers, sign makers, promotional companies, as well as individual companies and organizations, which have provided me with a strong understanding of the fundamentals of printing, typesetting and design. During my employment with Apple, I was able to continue to work for several of my freelance clients as well as utilize my design talents by creating flyers, cards, keynote presentations and short movies for our store.
I have designed websites for several companies and organizations as well as personal ventures. I understand how to use DreamWeaver, FTP, several HTML editors, and I a strong understanding of basic HTML. I have designed many websites using content management systems such as Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, Xoops, and php forum software. One of my personal web ventures included an online magazine for children that earned the attention of Disney’s Family Fun magazine and the Steve Harvey show.
